Archives 19: The Younger, Cuter Eagles | 7/19/12

In grad school, we had been studying Johannes Brahms, who had been dubbed "the young eagle" by his older friend and fellow composer Robert Schumann. Most of us had a visual of Brahms as stately older composer with no lack of facial hair:

But we were delighted to discover that during his "young eagle" years, he could cast a sultry gaze with the best of them:

So with that in mind, I snapped a few photos of some of my grad school friends who may one day look back on their "young eagle" days with a grin :-).

Here are the three together:

Here's D:

And here's H:

Handsome eagles all!

A few more outtakes:

Photographer's note: I (obviously) did not take the photos of Brahms. They are in the public domain; thanks, Wikipedia!
